Ways to Give

Spirit of Giving
Spirit of Giving Campaign

MCA yearly tuition covers basic operation of the school. Funds raised through the Spirit of Giving are used to enrich and enhance programs, benefits, and classroom teaching tools.
These added enhancements contribute to making MCA an exceptional learning facility. These tax-deductible gifts are generally unrestricted and may be given as a one-time gift or in the form of a pledge, paid within the school fiscal year the gift is given. - Give now! And help us shape the minds of our future.

Headmaster’s Council

The Headmaster’s Council recognizes those businesses or individuals that support Christian education and have contributed $5,000 or more each school fiscal year (July 1 - June 30). The Headmaster’s Council members are invited to a special dinner with the Head of School in the spring. During this time, the Headmaster will share the current state of MCA and the vision for the future.

Special Event Fundraisers

MCA conducts various events throughout the year to provide funds for various school departments that include fine arts, technology, science, core curriculum and athletics. A percentage of these fundraising proceeds are also directed to the MCA Financial Aid Endowment.

MCA Financial Aid Endowment

Gifts to MCA’s financial aid endowment fund are currently preserved as principal. This endowment’s interest income will eventually provide annual income for students needing financial assistance. These restricted funds will provide a long-term support base to promote the belief that every accepted child deserves a quality education regardless of financial ability.

Financial Aid Fund

Monies provided through the Financial Aid Fund are allocated to families that have demonstrated a need for financial assistance. Financial assistance is not to exceed 50% of tuition and need is determined by a third party (FACTS).

Headmaster’s Aid Fund

Established in 2009, this fund was created to assist families who required financial assistance to send their children to MCA but who needed more assistance than the Financial Aid Fund could provide. If additional assistance has been demonstrated through the third party (FACTS), The Headmaster’s Aid fund is a means in which to fill that need. We are very grateful to our Headmaster’s Aid Fund benefactors for their generous contributions which allow many students to attend MCA that otherwise would never have the opportunity.

Capital Campaign

MCA will periodically conduct a capital campaign to build new facilities or for major renovation of existing buildings in order to meet growth and house additional school programs. Because the gifts requested are generally sacrificial and above annual giving, pledges are accepted and can be paid over three to five years.

Gifts in Kind

Gifts in Kind are gifts of needed goods and services rather than money. These could be library books, computers, musical instruments, carpentry, printing services, etc. MCA is always grateful to accept items and services that can be beneficial to MCA students and staff. The Development Office recommends contacting a tax expert before giving items of high value such as property, vehicles, etc. due to the complex rules and regulations about valuation and tax credits.

Honorariums/Memorial Gifts

These are gifts made in honor or in memory of a loved one that is a lasting tribute to others. Christmas, birthday/anniversary, a major life accomplishment, or the death of an individual may all be occasions for such special gifts.

Matching Gifts

Many corporations/businesses match gifts made by their employees to qualified non-profit organizations. This is a simple way to double or triple your gift to McKinney Christian Academy. Contact your employer or human resources office for the form needed to match your gift to MCA and alert the MCA Development Office that the matching gift is forthcoming.

Planned Gifts

Planned giving is a unique way to support MCA. In many cases planned giving can provide tax benefits as well as the satisfaction of seeing your gift working while you are alive. Cash, appreciated securities, a bequest through a will, life insurance, split interest gifts such as charitable remainder trusts or annuities, charitable lead trusts and retained life estates, are all ways to make a planned gift to MCA. As with all planned gifts, donors should consult legal and financial counsel before entering into any agreement.

If you should have questions regarding how to make a gift or to discuss various giving opportunities, please contact the MCA Development Office at (214) 504-7222.
