About Us

School & Community

McKinney Christian Academy is a nondenominational Covenant school. Founded in 1992, MCA offers a biblical worldview education across all disciplines to PreK-12th-grade students.  We partner with the family and church in the students’ education. MCA has been named the Best Private School by Star Local Media annually since 2006 and by Living Magazine annually since 2013.

 MCA has a peaceful, 60-acre campus in the rapidly growing city of McKinney, Texas, a northern suburb of Dallas. The community is a diverse, residential, highly educated and professional community that is family-focused and has a small-town feel. With a friendly charm, green spaces and vibrant quality of life, it boasts a population of 188,000. Among many other awards, McKinney was ranked #1 Best Place to Live in America in 2014 by Money Magazine. The economy includes a mix of retail, healthcare, professional offices, and manufacturing.

 

Faculty

The faculty is comprised of 54 teachers certified in their area of instruction; forty-three percent hold advanced degrees. All employees have a personal testimony of saving faith in Jesus Christ.  MCA seeks to hire faculty members who exhibit godly influence, professionalism, teaching expertise and the ability to communicate effectively with students and parents

Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) accreditation by the AdvancED Accreditation Commission.  Accredited also by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), National Association of Secondary Principals (NASSP), The College Board, Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS), Texas Association of Non-Public Schools, Texas Association of Private Schools, National Honor Society.

Admissions

Admission to McKinney Christian Academy is selective. Students from Christian homes and who demonstrate an acceptable level of capability are admitted based on personal testimonies, previous school records, standardized test scores, personal recommendations, evaluations, and interviews.  As part of the Covenant Relationship, it is important for each of our families to understand and agree with the basic Biblical standards upon which MCA was founded. MCA seeks to enroll students from all socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color or nationality in the administration of any program. Activities

 McKinney Christian Academy is a Class 5A school and a member of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS). The MCA athletic program includes baseball, basketball, cheer, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, track & field, volleyball, and wrestling. Additional opportunities include community service, mission trips, art, band, choir, theatre, debate, journalism, robotics, National Honor Society, student government, Duke TIP, TAPPS academic competitions, various clubs, chapel, and small discipleship groups.
