Counseling is my second career. Before I had children, I worked as a middle school teacher in California and Texas. As I listened to the kids' daily stories of both the good and the bad in life, I was drawn to the idea of becoming a counselor at some point in my life. Then 13 years later, as my youngest son began school, I decided it was time. I was privileged to be able to study at and work for the Center for Play Therapy at the University of North Texas, under the direction of Dr. Garry Landreth and Dr. Sue Bratton. I am now a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor, Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, and Nationally Certified Counselor.
I am always trying to grow as an individual, a wife, a mother, a friend and a daughter. In that way, I am on a similar journey as you.
Teri is a Counselor and Registered Play Therapist at the
Center for Biblical Counseling, McKinney.
