Here's a precious memory from Laurie Hubert, US English Teacher, who grew up in McKinney and arrived to school this morning seeing the house being torn down. She says,
"[I remember from] my childhood growing up in McKinney and the Myrick house was one of the few landmarks you saw when you looked West (from the East side) over highway 75 and there was just farm land... I was really sad because so much nostalgia was wrapped up in the house. I couldn't look up at the hill this morning."
