FACTS Family Portal (RenWeb)
Check RenWeb, our school student database, for important information
regarding current calendars, school directory, class lists, etc. In
addition, you will also have access to your child’s schedule,
assignments, grades, behavioral record, attendance, etc.
If you have FACTS Family Portal (RenWeb) questions please contact Kate Perry, Registrar at kate.perry@mckinneychristian.org or (214) 544-2658, ext. 1108.
Attendance
If your child has to miss a school day(s) due to illness or other
reasons, please call the school office at (214) 544-2658, ext. 1601 (LS), ext. 1506 (MS) or ext. 1101 (US) to notify the office of their
absence. If a child is out for three days or longer, a doctor’s note is
required when they return. If it is a planned absence all MS & US students must fill out a Planned Absence Form. These forms are available in the MS & US offices as well as on the MS & US pages of the website under Resource Library.
Uniforms
School uniforms are required in all grades, PreK through Grade 12, and
must be worn Monday through Thursday of each week. Every Friday is a
“Spirit Day,” when students may wear jeans and a MCA T-shirt. Uniforms are purchased from Academic Outfitters and
the MCA Spirit Store. Academic Outfitters supplies our pants, shorts,
skirts, skorts and sweaters. The MCA Spirit Store supplies our
uniform shirts, t-shirts, sweatshirts, athletic uniforms, and other MCA items.

MCA Spirit Store
Located in the portable building south of the Student Life Center. There are reserved Spirit Shop parking spaces available as well as a separate Spirit Shop entrance.
Online ordering: MCA Spirit Shop
There are many different combinations of uniform pieces that are
acceptable. Please review the Parent-Student
Handbook for up-to-date, approved options.
We also have a Uniform Resale Shop located next to the MCA Spirit Store. These are gently used uniforms and
sweatshirts that can be purchased at a fraction of the cost. When your
child outgrows his/her uniform, consider donating it to the Uniform
Resale, so that another family can benefit!
Spirit Wear
Spirit wear is defined as MCA-inspired T-shirts, sweatshirts, and other
items that can be purchased at the MCA Spirit Shop. These items can be worn on Fridays, in place of the usual
uniform requirement (for all grades).
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Parent/Teacher conferences are a part of healthy communication between
school and home. Lower School has required conferences each October
with optional conferences in the spring. Middle & Upper School fall
conferences are encouraged and may be scheduled, but are not required.
Please feel free to request a meeting, if necessary. MCA believes that before approaching the Principal, the first point
of contact should be the classroom teacher or coach. If your student
has a concern, please encourage him or her to talk to the teacher first.
Parent-Teacher Fellowship (PTF)
PTF was organized to enhance the relationship between MCA families and
the school. Its membership includes all parents and teachers at MCA.
The PTF supports the teachers and staff by giving gifts for
Teachers/Staff, providing meals during in-service days and the ACSI
convention, hosting an Annual Christmas Luncheon, and coordinating our
Room Mom program. They help organize and fund many student events
throughout the year. The PTF contact
information is listed on our website under “Campus Life”, “Parent
Teacher Fellowship”.
Student Health Clinic
MCA has a full-time nurse on staff to provide immediate medical care and
to promote health and safety on campus. The school nurse also maintain our student health records and keep student immunizations current. All
immunization records will be reviewed by the school nurse. If there is
a delinquency, parents will be notified by email, informing them of the
delinquency. All immunizations must be completed by the first day of
school; students will not be permitted to pick up their schedules or
attend class without appropriate documentation of immunizations. The
only exceptions to this rule include medical exemptions and exemptions
for reason of conscience. If your student falls in either of these
categories, an Affidavit of Exemption must be provided prior to the start of school.
If ill, students may NOT return to class until fever-free and/or have not vomited for 24 hours.
Prescription and non-prescription medications are to be provided by
the parent and will be kept in the clinic for students. Medication must
be in the original container. A form will be signed by the parents
upon dropping off the medication. Students are not allowed to keep
medication with them. The only exception to this is rescue inhalers for
asthma. Please send an additional inhaler to be kept in the clinic.
The clinic is located across from the Lower School Office in Room "A".
Cafeteria
Students may bring a lunch from home, or they may purchase a
hot lunch from our cafeteria, provided by Guess Who's Coming to Dinner. Look for the yearly menu and the process to set up
your account on our website - just click "All School"
Development
Since McKinney Christian Academy’s beginning in 1992, the tradition of
philanthropic giving has been important. That tradition of giving
continues today as families, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends support
the school in its development efforts, thereby affirming the school’s
mission. Gifts allow the school to start new programs, strengthen
existing ones, provide financial aid to qualified students and engage a
dedicated faculty and staff. Your gifts provided salaries and
professional development, technology improvements, athletic activities,
fine arts ventures, and student mission outreach. The ways in which you
can financially support MCA are varied and rewarding. Participation by
the entire MCA community is the key to our continued success. We invite
you to get involved!
The Development Office is responsible for all fundraising efforts at
McKinney Christian Academy. In addition, the department oversees
community relation, marketing/communications, and special events such as
Mustang Fun Run and
Grandparents/Great Friends Day.
