Upper School Programs of Study
Curricular Distinctives:
McKinney Christian Academy focuses on Christian worldview training and biblical integration across the disciplines. In addition to a focus on teaching students to think from a biblical perspective, MCA also emphasizes critical thinking skills and a multi-sensory learning environment. The academic year is divided into two semesters, each 18 weeks in length. Grades are reported at 9-week intervals.

Honor Rolls:
Students' grade averages are based on all courses in which they earn credit. To be on the Headmaster's Honor Roll a student must have quarterly grades of 93% or above in every class. To be on the "A" Honor Roll, a student must earn a four term average of 93% or above with no individual quarterly grades below 70%. For the "B" Honor Roll students must earn a a four term average between 85% and 92% with no individual quarterly grades below 70%.

| 9th through 11th grade MCA students are required to take the PSAT and PLAN in October of each academic year. First through eighth grade students take the Stanford Achievement Test in April. First, third, fifth and seventh grade students also take the OLSAT in April. | |||
