Welcome to the 2013-2014 school year! With a September 13th Homecoming game to prepare for, we are already on the fast track. Seniors are receiving acceptance letters, plans are in process for the senior trip as well as spring mission opportunities, school starts Wednesday the 14th and then the Upper School leaves for retreat the next morning. MCA is always an adventure and we are excited to have you come along with us. The Upper School retreat will take place at Collin County’s Adventure Camp in Westminster, TX. We will be leaving Thursday morning August 15th, at 7:00 a.m. and returning on Friday afternoon at approximately 3:00 p.m. We will utilize our retreat time as an opportunity to begin small leadership groups whose focus this year will be on developing student leadership habits and attitudes based on scripture.
The challenge for our MCA students this year - Think - comes from Philippians 4:8.
Finally brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
We covet your prayers as we seek to make our goal; to be like Christ, and to be all Christ has in mind for us, a reality in all our lives.
Students should look forward to using the new water fountain provided by last year’s senior class of 2013, and enjoying the courtyard and classrooms that have been updated and readied for their coming. We also welcome new additions to Upper School staff — Edna Pajela (MS and US Technology), Deidre Sickles (MS and US Art), Chance Gray (Algebra I and Health) and Craig Callon (US Bible/History). As always, we are humbled by the grace of God and thankful for His provision as we move forward in faith to impact the lives of our students and Think on such things.
