McKinney Christian Academy offers teachers, administrators, and parents training in multisensory, discovery, and mastery techniques.
Many students need input through auditory, kinesthetic, and visual channels in order to learn. Unfortunately, many of our curriculum and teaching methodologies are based on traditional teaching and are, therefore, less successful for students with learning differences. The training center has been instrumental in developing specialized techniques that are very successful with all types of learners.
MCA Academic Language Teacher Training
Our mission is to develop academic language teachers and academic language therapists who understand dyslexia and related disorders and are training to successfully teach dyslexic and attention deficit disorder learners to read, write and spell through the implementation of an Orton-Gillingham based multisensory structured language therapy program, to enable the therapist to become certified after passing the ALTA exam and an associate level of membership in ALTA.
