A new school year presents opportunities for various beginnings – new classes, new faces, sometimes new courses, and often new materials. Summer and vacation can be great healers; and as we approach the opening day of a new school year, the pressures that we had last year seem quite remote and inconsequential.
Newness alone, however, cannot produce transformation. We ourselves must be willing to be caught up in the rebirth that is possible with each new year. Starting a new year gives us the opportunity to make new plans, design new strategies, and implement new ideas. There is a special kind of joy and satisfaction in planning activities for a new year. There is always room for improvement and for new ways to do a good job even better.
We can be proud of what we achieve at McKinney Christian Academy – in our classes, in our offices, and on our playing fields. Last year the following teams advanced to the playoffs in Varsity Sports: Volleyball, Football, Boy’s Basketball, Girl’s Basketball, Girl’s Softball, and Boy’s Baseball tied for second but lost the playoff to represent the district. Girl’s Golf advanced to the State Tournament. Wrestling was the State Runner-Up. Boy’s track had two advance to the regional track meet. Girl’s track had the 4x200 relay, 4x400 relay, shot, 200 meter, and 800 meter State qualifiers. Our Cheerleaders won numerous awards throughout the year including the Herkie Award and the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader Competition to name a couple.
McKinney Christian Academy tied for 10th place in the TAPPS Henderson Overall Championship Cup.
But our achievements are not due to complacency and satisfaction with the status quo. Our program is what it is because a staff of dedicated, aspiring men and women have a common goal – to do what is best for students – and are always looking for ways to achieve that goal. This year, as in the past, we must concentrate on the processes that spur continuing advancement: evaluating what we have, determining what we can do to improve, and identifying what we need to make those improvements. Many students have participated in summer camps to help them be better prepared for the athletic fields this next year. We are excited about what this year will hold. We appreciate the opportunity to partner with you in the growth and development of each athlete and team.

We look forward to seeing both parents and athletes there!
You need to have the following two forms when you start your sport this fall. You can find the forms on the Athletic Page of the McKinney Christian Academy website:
1. Physical Form and 2. Student Acknowledgement of Rules
You will need to turn both of these forms into the head coach of your sport on your first day of participation.
