Individual Course Opportunities for Homeschool Students
Please visit our Upper School Academics webpage for a listing of courses offered
- Individual courses $750 each, 9th – 12th grades only.
- Starting Oct. 1, 2011, applications accepted for Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 courses.
- Homeschooled student must complete the MCA admissions process to enroll in requested class(es).
- Space is limited, so please go to our Apply for Admissions page to apply.
- Students enrolling in AP courses will have an additional fee for the AP testing.

Testing Opportunities for Homeschool Students

9th - 11th Grades:
MCA offers the opportunity for high school students in 9th – 11th grades to take the College Board’s PSAT and the ACT’s PLAN tests. These tests help parents and students evaluate the students’ academic strengths and weaknesses, provide useful tools for use in improving academic abilities, as well as guidance on potential college and career paths. To register, please submit the completed registration forms and payments to MCA by the designated deadlines.
College Board’s PSAT, October 12, 2011 7:45 AM
The PSAT is the precursor to the SAT college entrance exam. The PSAT scores from the junior year are the basis for the National Merit Scholarship program. For more information, visit the College Board website.
ACT’s PLAN, NEW DATE November 3, 2011 7:45 AM
The PLAN test is the precursor to the ACT college entrance exam. The scores give students insight into their academic strengths and weaknesses as well as potential college and career paths suitable for them. For more information, visit the ACT website.
8th Grade:
MCA offers the opportunity for 8th grade homeschooled students to take the College Board’s ReadiStep and the ACT’s EXPLORE tests in preparation for high school testing and to evaluate the students’ academic strengths and weaknesses, as well as interests. To register, please submit the completed registration forms and payments to MCA by the designated deadlines.

ReadiStep can help students and their parents understand which skills need work as students make the important transition into high school. In addition, ReadiStep lets students see how their skill levels compare to those of other students in their district and across the nation. For more information, visit the ReadiStep website.
ACT’s EXPLORE, NEW DATE November 3, 2011 7:45AM

3rd - 8th Grades:
This spring, MCA will administer the Stanford Achievement Test the week of April 23rd. We will offer the opportunity for homeschool students in 3rd – 8th grades to take the Stanford Achievement Test on our campus providing space is available. Please contact us to confirm space is available, then return the registration form by March 21st. Please note that MCA is out of school for Spring Break March 12-16, and staff will not be in the office to confirm available space.
