McKinney Christian Academy exists to honor Jesus Christ by teaching students to live biblically through education of mind, body and spirit.

McKinney Christian Academy is a Christian, independent, coeducational, interdenominational, college preparatory day school. MCA was founded in 1992 and currently enrolls 475 students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade.

FACULTY

McKinney Christian Academy is comprised of professionally certified faculty, all of whom holds bachelor degrees and are certified in their area of teaching.  Thirty percent of our current faculty has also obtained Masters and PhD degrees.  MCA seeks to hire faculty members who exhibit godly influence, professionalism, teaching expertise and the ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.

ACCREDITATION/MEMBERSHIPS

Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), National Association of Secondary Principals (NASSP), The College Board, National Honor Society, American College Test, Inc., Association for Supervision and Curricular Development (ASCD), Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS).

ADMISSIONS

Admission to McKinney Christian Academy is selective. Students from Christian homes, who demonstrate an acceptable level of capability, are admitted on the basis of previous school records, standardized test scores, teacher and character recommendations, evaluation and interview. The school seeks to enroll students from all socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds. Since God’s love extends equally to all people, McKinney Christian Academy welcomes and encourages any of His children to apply for admission, scholarship and all programs of the school and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color or nationality in the administration of any program of the school.

ACTIVITIES

McKinney Christian Academy is a Class 3A school and a member of Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS). The MCA athletic program includes basketball, baseball, football, volleyball, cheerleading, cross country, golf, softball, wrestling, and track and field. Additional opportunities include band, choir, drama, chapel, photography, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Honor Society, Student Government, Duke TIPS, community service, TAPPS academic competitions, and various clubs.

COMMUNITY

MCA is located on approximately 60 acres in the city of McKinney, a rapidly growing residential and professional community in the center of Collin County. McKinney was named the fastest growing city of its size in 2005.
